Protect Yourself With These Mosquitoes Tips

There are many insects that can deliver a rather unpleasant bite or sting. Although most of the times they are just making us feel uncomfortable there are some situations that are a little more complicated. The most well known insect that is biting and stinging us during an entire summer is the mosquito.
Mosquitoes are insects that we all love to hate. They are annoying, loud and absolutely unbearable. Male mosquitoes feed mainly on nectar in flowers. Females "attack" the host to feed on its blood, just to be able to create offspring. When the female mosquito "stings" the skin she creates a very small hole in which she injects her saliva. It contains proteins that prevent blood clotting in order for the mosquito to extract it until she is saturated. It is not yet known why some people are more prone to bites of mosquitoes than others.

In terms of doctors, pills and mosquito sprays are not the best solution to protect our body against biting insects. But rather that should be one of the last resorts. Specialists say that the first way to hold off mosquitoes is strict hygiene, because insects are attracted to the smell of sweat. Also they do not recommend fragrances or shower gels that have a very strong smell. Anti mosquito pills are not recommended because they contain volatile insecticides that are inhaled and reach the blood, kidney or the liver. Sprays or such substances should not be placed in a children's room, because they are more sensitive.
Although mosquito bites are for the most part just uncomfortable, for some people it can be highly different. Some mosquitoes can cause high fever leading to various diseases, like malaria, Lyme disease, etc. But perhaps one of the most concerning things is a mosquito can be is a virus carrier. It can transmit a large variety of viruses, some of which can cause elephantiasis.
Protecting ourselves from mosquito bites is no easy task. As they are small insects they can enter your home trough the smallest gap. Cleaning also helps, as mosquitoes are drowned to dirty places. Lots of anti-mosquito lotions are available at pharmacies. Use mosquito netting when sleeping in an infested area.
